I received confirmation last week that I have been invited to present as a keynote speaker at the Florida Association of CVB’s annual Destination Marketing Summit in Orlando. The presentation will be two hours in length and cover two segments; an introduction to social media and it’s impact on tourism marketing and strategies in using social media to market destinations to a changing user landscape.

I’m really looking forward to presenting to this group primarily because:

  1. The use of social media and user generated content is a very timely subject.
  2. The audience is well positioned to take advantage of the strategies in a way that result in near short term benefits for their organizations.
  3. DMOs and RMOs need to be embracing new technology strategies in order to take advantage of shifts in online research.

Here are the details of the event:
June 25-27 Florida Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus Destination Marketing Summit
Hilton University of Florida Conference Center
June 25-27, 2008
