Using Twitter as an SEM Tool
I’ve been going crazy signing up with web apps including Twitter. It’s a really simple application to sign-up for and use, but I must admit I had a hard time trying to figure out what it is good for. Besides being a narcissists dream come true, I didn’t really see the point. After all, who in their right mind has enough time on their hands to spend their precious moments reading about what I’m doing RIGHT NOW! I don’t really think what I do is all that interesting. So I posted a few updates about Rezgo.com and left it. To my surprise, the posts with Rezgo.com were indexed by Google less than a week later and were now showing up on the first page of results when doing a search for “rezgo”. The proverbial light bulb went off. What a great way to promote a site or drive traffic to a product. When posting updates, use keywords that are important to your product, mention the product name, and post daily or even twice daily. Not only that, if you can find friends to follow you and you follow them, then the link density to your Twitter profile will increase. So, in the name of all things blatantly SEM… please follow me and I’ll follow you!
Twitter you later.
